FAQ
1. How can I change the setting mode of my meter?
To enter setting mode, Koso gauges must be set to the odometer. If another function is set, you must press the ADJUST and SELECT buttons together for 3 to 5 seconds to enter setting mode.
2. How is a battery installed in the mini measuring devices
1- Find the metal tab
2- Slide the battery between the base and the tab
CAUTION: Make sure the tab is OVER the battery.
The connection cannot be made if the tab is under the battery.
3 - Close the blanket
3. Are Koso measuring devices waterproof or water-resistant?
All of our measuring devices are waterproof. The IP protection level is 66.
The IP Code, the international protection marking, IEC standard 60529, sometimes interpreted as Ingress Protection Marking, classifies and rates the level of protection against ingress (body parts such as hands and fingers), dust, accidental touch and water by mechanical enclosures and electrical Housing. It is published by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
4. Are Koso measuring devices universal?
All of our products are "universal", meaning they fit almost every application on the market, except those that use the CANBUS system.
How to determine if your motorcycle uses the CANBUS system? Unplug your OEM meter and try starting your motorcycle.
If the engine starts and you can operate the motorcycle without the OEM gauge then it is not using the CANBUS system which means any of our gauges will work on your motorcycle.
If the motorcycle does not start without the OEM gauge plugged in, it means it is using the CANBUS system and therefore our gauges will not work on your motorcycle.
Each Koso device comes with the brackets, cables and sensors you need for installation. To properly install our meters, you will need your application's wiring diagram so you can match our cables to your wiring harness. If you would like to know how to wire our meters, check out our website where you will find instructions for each meter so you know in advance how to prepare.
5. How do you find the north pole of a magnet?
Locating the north pole on a speed sensor's magnet is a very important step in adjusting the speed sensor to get a clear reading.
The "N" or red line indicates the north side of the magnet.
If you can't find any markings on the magnet, you can use a compass.
The north side of the magnet will always attract the south side of the compass.
